Dairy Farm Worker (Stradone | Cavan)
Job Description: Dairy farm worker required in the Poles/Stradone Area, Co. Cavan, on a 190+ cow herd. Modern Dairy farm with excellent facilities. This job will entail Milking cows in a modern 22 Unit De Leval Parlour with Batch Feeders, ACR'S and Autowasher. The safe operation of tractors & farm machinery, calf rearing and general dairy farm duties will also be part of this role. This Role will be initially part time including relief milking and some dairy related duties but will lead to full time from early October and will include a 40 hour week. Accommodation can be provided for the right candidate. Applicants must have a background in Agriculture or have a green cert or equivalent. Piggery Worker (Virginia | Cavan)
Job Description: Full time Piggery worker required near Virginia, Co. Cavan just off the N3, Lisgrey Area. Hours will be 8-4 daily. Daily tasks will include powerwashing, moving of pigs, vaccinating, general health & welfare of pigs. There are roughly 13,000 pigs in total on this farm. The ideal candidate must have some experience of working in a piggery environment. The cows are milked in a 32 Swingover Pearson parlour x 4 milkings on the weekends at 6.30am & 3.30pm.  Approx. 3hrs per milking. THE ROLE:

Taking on the responsibility or assisting in the morning or evening milkings

Parlour preparation pre milking

Gathering and herding cows

Milking to the highest standard

Parlour wash down

Returning animals to paddock

Applying farm safety and quality service delivery

THE CANDIDATE:

If you are a reliable, punctual, capable person who can work on their own initiative with good communication skills, good to take instruction and with the right attitude then this is a very rewarding job for you, offering work satisfaction in a highly skilled environment.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A farming background and or Dairy experience with a real liking for milking cows would be an advantage, but training will be provided through the FRS Trainee Operator Scheme to candidates with the right attitude.

DAIRY FARM WORKER: JOB DESCRIPTION

THE ROLE:

Taking on in-part or in-full the responsibilities of the day to day running of the farm from morning and/or evening milking if the case may arise

Assisting in the process or completing on your own all the other day to day farm chores eg, cattle feeding, calf feeding, yard scraping, fertiliser spreading etc.
