About the Role
FRS Farm Services is seeking an experienced and reliable Relief Milker to join our team in the Nenagh area. This role involves providing high-quality milking and general farm support services to a range of dairy clients. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, skilled in modern milking practices, and committed to maintaining excellent animal welfare and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out milking duties efficiently across a variety of farm setups (parlour, rotary, etc.)
- Ensure high standards of milk quality, hygiene, and herd health
- Identify and report signs of mastitis, lameness, or other health issues
- Assist with general farm tasks when required (feeding, bedding, calf care, yard work)
- Maintain accurate records where necessary
- Follow all farm safety procedures and protocols
- Represent FRS Farm Services professionally on client farms
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in dairy farming or milking
- Strong knowledge of milking routines, hygiene standards, and animal welfare
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to different farm environments
- Good time management and reliability (early mornings / evenings required)
- Full, clean driving licence and own transport preferred
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
Desirable Skills
- Experience with a variety of milking systems preferred (herringbone, rotary, robotic)
- Basic herd health knowledge
- Farm machinery operation experience
- Manual handling and safety training
