FARMEX, the business of farming is a new one day conference & trade exhibition based around the subjects of how to increase profitability, sustainability and add long term equity value to the family farming business. This year’s event will take place this coming Friday the 12th in the Kilkenny Hub. Up to 50 exhibitors will be there including FRS and Herdwatch.
‘Working Smarter not Harder on Farms’ will be one of the focuses at Farmex 2018 with Peter Byrne from FRS and James Greevy from Herdwatch speaking at the seminar area on this topic during the event. The pair will both be speaking on the topic issues of farm labour and technology efficiencies to help farmers.
Other businesses will be there on the day including ones from Britain, France and New Zealand as well as Irish agri business firms such as Keenan, AXA Insurance, FARM TV, FBD, Glanbia, IFAC, Mullinahone Cop, PE Services, Staines Law, Terra Liquid Minerals, That’s Farming and Volac to name a few.

The Farmex conference includes eight one hour seminars on Agritech, Animal Health/Nutrition, Dairying, Farm Business, Livestock & Tillage. Each seminar has four top class speakers followed by a Q & A session chaired by an Agri VIP.
The event itself is a Dept. of Agriculture (DAFM) Knowledge Transfer approved event for livestock & tillage farmers. The Hub in Kilkenny where the event will take place is the largest arena in the south east of Ireland and home to many successful Agri events.
3,000 attendees are predicted to attend on Friday. The organisers are hoping to attract Agribusiness, advisory and educational personnel, family farmers, farm managers and Ag students, farm managers, farm contractors and Agri-Food Science students to attend this event.

Tickets are €20 for adults, €10 for agri-students and €40 for a family (two adults & children). Car parking is free and one can avail low cost group travel via Bus Eireann at only €15/20 per person return.
